1 – Introduction
Hydrotech Engineering S.r.l., as the owner of this website, recognizes the importance of digital accessibility as a fundamental right for all citizens and is committed to ensuring access to its online content and services for all categories of users, regardless of personal abilities or the use of assistive technologies.
This accessibility statement aims to inform users about the level of website compliance with national and European regulations, as well as with international accessibility standards.
2 – Reference Regulations
This statement is drafted in accordance with:
- Directive (EU) 2016/2102 on the accessibility of websites;
- Italian Legislative Decree 106/2018 (implementation of the EU directive);
- International WCAG 2.2 Guidelines, Level AA;
- EN 301 549 technical standard for ICT products and services accessibility;
- Section 508 (2017) for alignment with international references.
3. Purpose and Verification Methodology
The accessibility assessment was conducted with the objective of identifying any digital barriers that may limit access to content by:
- people with visual, auditory, motor, or cognitive disabilities;
- users who use screen readers, screen magnifiers, alternative keyboards;
- elderly users or users with temporary limitations.
The verification methodology included:
- Automated analysis through online scanning tools (WAVE, axe, SiteImprove, etc.);
- Manual verification of main pages, interactive functions, and dynamic content;
- Compatibility testing with assistive technologies (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, keyboard navigation);
- Usability simulations with non-expert users and simulations for disability conditions.
4 – Current Compliance Status
Following the conducted activities, the website is currently:
PARTIALLY COMPLIANT with the accessibility requirements set out by WCAG 2.2 – Level AA.
5 – Detailed Summary of Detected Non-Conformities
The following technical issues were identified during the assessments:
5.1 – Level A (mandatory)
- Missing labels on interactive controls (ARIA missing label): some interactive elements (e.g., sliders/carousels) lack accessible labels for screen readers.
- Images without alt attribute: some images do not contain descriptive text, preventing correct interpretation by blind users.
- Prolonged animations without the option to disable: certain animations exceed 5 seconds without options to stop or apply “reduced motion” preferences.
- Links without accessible name: some links lack descriptive text, making it difficult for screen reader users to understand their purpose.
- Incomplete or non-compliant ARIA roles: semantic structure errors with elements using role=listbox without child role=option.
- Links identified by color alone: some links are distinguishable solely by color change, creating difficulties for colorblind or visually impaired us.
5.2 – Level AA (highly important)
- Insufficient color contrast: some texts do not meet the minimum required contrast ratio (4.5:1), compromising readability for visually impaired users.
- Absence of visible focus indicators: in some areas of the site, keyboard focus is not clearly visible, hindering non-mouse-based navigation.
5.3 – Level AAA (not mandatory)
- Insufficient advanced color contrast: in some cases, the contrast ratio does not reach the 7:1 threshold required for WCAG AAA compliance.
6 – Technologies Used for Evaluation
The following tools and technologies were employed during the audit:
Automated scanning tools:
- WAVE Accessibility Tool
- axe DevTools
- SiteImprove Accessibility Checker
Screen reader:
- NVDA (Windows 10, Chrome 131, Firefox 128)
- JAWS 2024.2409.2
- VoiceOver (macOS 14.6, Safari 17.6 e iOS 17.7)
Browser: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Safari
Operating systems: Windows 10, macOS 14.6, iOS 17.7
